Here's what I'm doing today with Ethan. He has a free pass to miss school every year on Opening Day for the Cubs to watch the game with me. It's a tradition I hope to establish and keep with him not because I love baseball but because I love my son, and spending time doing special things like "opening day" or whatever will interest him as he grows up is what it means for fathers to love their children. My dad is not nearly the sports fan that I am, but almost every memory of a game I have, dad was there watching with me. So today we start with baseball. In 10 years it might be something else but I'm glad I get to spend it with my boy.
